The England and Wales Cricket Board has appointed Leah Poulton as Managing Director of England Women. Poulton is due to begin in November and will oversee England Women, England Women A, England Women U19s and the wider women’s high-performance system.
Poulton played 90 times for Australia before retiring in 2015. The ECB says she joins from Cricket New South Wales, where she has been Head of Elite Female Cricket since 2020 and has overseen performance operations across state cricket and two WBBL teams.
The appointment comes ahead of the 2027 Women’s Ashes in England. Poulton succeeds Clare Connor, whose departure after 18 years at the ECB had been announced earlier this year.
