Change the question For a single lap, you might ask where time was gained or lost. Across a race, also ask how the car behaves over a stint and what happens when it encounters other traffic. These are connected questions, but they are not identical.

Resist the simple prediction Starting position matters, yet the race still has to unfold. Watch how the early laps change the problem each driver faces rather than treating the grid as a finished ranking.

Review the turning points After the race, choose a few moments that changed a driver’s situation. A stop, a period in traffic or a change in conditions can provide a useful structure for discussion. Be clear about what you observed and what remains an interpretation.
